Saturday Snapshot

We had a great time at my niece's wedding in Flordia last weekend
The countdown to my daughter's (she was a bridesmaid last weekend) wedding is 9 weeks!

But my Kindle did not survive the trip.  It went through security and when I turned it on, it looked like this.  I am so sad.  Amazon has said they will replace (upgrade) it to a Paper White, Touch or Fire at a reduced cost.  Do you own either of the choices?  If so, why do you love it or don't?

To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online.

What a beautiful photo! Only 9 weeks to the wedding -- gulp! Bummer on the Kindle.

I can't believe they ruined your kindle. I have the touch and I like it very much. My daughter has a fire and loves it. She likes the games and children's books. Good luck with your choice, and your wedding.

Gorgeous family shot! That stinks about your kindle. I'd be so mad.

Beautiful photo - 9 weeks will pass so quickly!

I have a kindle paperwhite and love it. Still prefer to read in print, but it is great for travel, reading in sunlight, and the adjustable light makes it perfect for reading in bed, too. My husband appreciates that... he hates my clip-on book light.

How sad about your Kindle, Nise'. I have a nook and am only just getting the feel for it. Mine went through security with no trouble. They should be responsible when the darned xrays cause damage.

It's obviously a busy, but happy time for you and your and your family. I had no idea Kindles could be damaged like that - is it caused by a scanning machine?

Oh, wow - your Kindle! Mine's gone through security just fine in the past. :-(

How exciting - nine weeks will pass in not time.

Poor kindle. I think the xray machine was turned up a little too high!

Your daughter looks lovely as do you. I'm sorry about your e reader. I wondered? what would happen. I'm still not big on e reading, although I've gotten gift certificates for books on my Kobo, I guess I'll have to persevere. Good luck. Looking forward to photos of your' daughter's wedding.

Beautiful photo! That is terrible your Kindle didn't survive security! I have heard many good things about the paperwhite. I have a Kindle Fire(older model) that I really enjoy but if I had to buy one today, I would go with the paperwhite.

Sorry to hear about your Kindle. I've just bought the Kindle Paperwhite after years of having a Kindle Keyboard and... I love it! I'd definitely recommend a Kindle Paperwhite :)

Lovely family pic and sounds like it was a fun family wedding but that's awful about your kindle! I have the fire and I love it, wouldn't go back to normal kindle now but my friend has the paperwhite and she loves it too. Guess you can't go wrong with either :)

Wow, great photo....but alas for your Kindle! If it doesn't survive the security at the airport, what good is it? They're for traveling, aren't they?

It must have been a fluke. It's good that they're replacing it. Are you able to download all of the books you had on the device?

Great photo!!!! And the Florida weather too!!

wonder what went wrong at the airport!! Nice of Amazon to do a reduced price though. I've done a little bit of research and if I had to buy one I would do the Kindle White. I find that when I read on my iPad I tend to play games and get distracted!! LOL!

So glad the wedding was good and now to get ready for your daughter's! Busy time.
Sorry about the Kindle. I still have (my third) Kindle 2 so I can't help with your upgrade. Many of my family have the Fire and like it.

What a beautiful photo Nise!

I have a Kindle Paperwhite and really like it. The built in light is great. I'm getting the Fire for my birthday though and can't wait! I think for throwing in your purse and such the Paperwhite is probably better because I'm pretty sure the fire has a glass screen like the iPad. I tend not to take that with me when I'm at appts and such. I'm much to clutzy. Lol.
