Charlie Clarke's new role at Standard Manufacturing is the chance of a lifetime. He can put some rough times behind him and reconnect with the father he's never known. The one thing he never counted on, however, was tenacious Lucy Kendall. She's making his work life miserable...and making herself impossible for him to forget
Siri's books always give me a great story as well as teaching me something new and interesting. In this case, it is candy making. Lucy is at first is difficult to like, she comes across as selfish and spoiled, but as the story progresses we understand her and are more understanding. Charlie is easy to like, it was humerous at times to watch him go from a street kid to a gentlemen's son. He wanted to rise above his past and become a better person. I liked that the story is told in alternating chapters of Lucy and Charlie's POV. It allows for a broader view of both sides of the story.

I have a Siri Mitchell book that I haven't read yet. I have a friend who likes her books. I'll check it out.
Thanks for visiting my blog!
Beautiful cover. Read a review of this one elsewhere and thought of you Nise. Knew you would like it!
A new author to me.
That cover looks so pretty! It certainly sounds like this author wrote her book around a part of history we don't see very often.
I like the candy-making aspect, but I bet this book wouldn't be a good match for me.
oooh i really want to read this. her books are amazing!
I finished this one last week and really enjoyed it!! I have 3 more of her books on my Kindle, really should get to them!
Learning how to make candy would not be good for me!
