Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:
Whew! I made my way through two chunksters this week and managed squeeze in a third book as well.
Life After Life by Kate Atkinson
This is a clever, addictive and brilliantly written book.
Running Wild by Linda Jones and Linda Howard
Carlin in on the run hiding from a stalker. She ends up in Battle Ridge, Wyoming taking a job as a cook at a cattle ranch figuring it is a perfect place to hide. She fights her attraction to owner Zeke. A fast, fun read between two chunksters. Lover At Last by JR Ward
At Last!!....Qhuinn, Blay, Layla, Xcor, Assail, the Brothers and all the luscious drama that follows right behind them all. At times a bit too much happening, some things I didn't like, but most of it I did like. Well worth the wait.
The Chaperone by Laura Moriarity (audio)
Cora Carlisle accompanies a young Louise Brooks to NY to a dance school. Cora has her hands full with Louise as well as learning about her own past. At times both characters are annoying, but Cora started to grown on me. The book was narrated by Elizabeth McGovern, while she did a good job, it was too soon after watching Downton Abby and all I heard and saw was Cora Crawley instead of the character Laura created. I cared enough about the characters to keep listening.
Anything But Ordinary by Lara Avery
Up Next:
Starting Now by Debbie Macomber
Prodigy by Marie Lue
The Likeness by Tana French

I haven't read a Linda Howard title for a while. I am reading a R.C. Ryan 'cowboy' book this week.
I have not read any JR Ward and often wonder if I should try this series.
I hope you have a good week.

You had a great week! Is that a new Macomber book? Legend and Prodigy are on my TBR stack, looking forward to your thoughts. Happy reading Nise :)
Life after Life sounds like my kind of story. I've just downloaded the sample to my iphone. :)
I am sooo looking forward to Life After Life. I got the same title by Jill McCorkle this week, but can't wait to get the Kate Atkinson read.
Enjoy!
Here's MY MONDAY MEMES POST
I read The Chaperone in print and thoroughly enjoyed it. Have a great week in books!
I have The Chaperone in print but haven't read it yet. I think I would have been hearing Cora Crowley too. Good to know so I will just stick with the print version. I am on the fence about Life After Life. Not sure if I could handle it but I am so curious about it. I may just have to buy it.
I'm sure you are ready for a break after your busy schedule at the parish. Enjoy your books, and I agree, I'm not sure I couldn't keep hearing Cora, while listening to Elizabeth McGovern read. Enjoy.
I listened to The Chaperone last year and it was one of my favorites.
Oh I want to read Running Wild so much -- love Linda Howard!! New follower

I really liked The Chaperone :) and I have Life after Life ready on my pile. You had a great week, hope the next is just as good.
"A fast, fun read between two chunksters" LOL, I'm glad you enjoyed the Howard. I recently read an older one (on audio) and it drove me nuts but I usually adore her work.
I really want to read Life After Life and soon!
I received Life After Life last week. I need to make time for it!
