What Are You Reading?

Sheila at Book Journey hosts this weekly event where we celebrate what we are reading for the week as well as books completed the previous week.

Did not get much reading time last week due to the visitation and funeral for my father-in-law early in the week.  Saturday my daughter and I attended a bridal show. Sunday was our first sunny day in weeks and I took full advantage of it and read in the hot tub for 2 hours!

Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:

In The Woods by Tana French

Detectives Ryan and Maddox are investigating the murder of a 12 year old girl. Her body is found in the same area where three kids were playing, two of them went missing 20 years ago. Det. Ryan was one of those kids and has no memory of what happened. Could they be related? The story slowly builds, and then the last 200 pages are page turning fantastic. I am so glad I listened to a few fellow bloggers and read this book. I look forward to the next book.

Listening to:
The Sweet Tooth by Ian McEwan (Juliet Stevenson)
The Chaperon by Laura Moriarty (Elizabeth McGovern)
Fatherhood by Dobson and Bruner ( Bernard Setaro Clark)

Up Next:
Call the Shots by Don Calame
When You Give A Rake A Ruby by Shana Galen
Free Fall by Catherine Mann

I just picked this one up. Hope it's good for me too. Even without the hot tub. I'm so sorry about your father in law, I do know how exhausting grief can be.

I've heard good things about Tana French but I don't think I've read anything of hers yet. One of these days! I've been curious about the new McEwan, I hope you're enjoying it.

Have a great week!

I thought I loved In the Woods, then I read The Likeness. Wow! I loved two books by French. Both really good!

My sympathies on the passing of your Father in Law. I liked the review and sounds like a book I'd enjoy so I'm going to pop it onto my to read list.
