Deputy Landon Grainger loves the McKennas like family, but he’s also sworn to find the truth, and he knows those closest to you have the power to deceive you the most. With the sheriff pushing for a quick conviction, pursuing the truth in this case could mean the end of Landon’s career.
As Piper wages her own search, the two head deep into Canada’s rugged backcountry–and unexpected complications. Not only does their long friendship seem to be turning into something more, but the search for answers is becoming deadlier with each step.
This is book two in the Alaskan Courage series, but stands alone well. After enjoying the first book (the author's debut), I looked forward to this story. The author almost lost me near the beginning using a plot device I detest: Boy likes/loves girl A, but there is girl B who loves/wants boy. Girl B gets herself in compromising position with boy and girl A shows up, sees and misinterprets. Thankfully, it did not overshadow the mystery and the story moved on without anymore from Girl B! The author kept me guessing as the suspense built with each twist and turn. I liked getting to know this family better and look forward to the next installment.

Yes I don't like the soap opera misunderstandings either, why don't people just talk to one another. So I'm glad this wasn't that type of story.
Not a fan of misunderstandings like that
I don't like that plot device either so I'm glad to see it didn't ruin the book.
That too drives me nuts, but glad the book was still good.
I have this one and can not wait to read it!

I'm glad that she didn't lose you. I hate that plot device too!!!
