What Are You Reading?

Sheila at Book Journey hosts this weekly event where we celebrate what we are reading for the week as well as books completed the previous week.

The first WAYR? of 2013. Last year this weekly event worked so well for recording thoughts on the books I read the previous week that I will continue with this format.   I will link to posts on individual reviews.

Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:

Fifteen Digits by Nick Santora

Rich has plans for his life. He got a new job in the printing department of a law firm and is attending law school at night. He quickly makes friends with his co-workers and settles into his job. Shortly one of the lawyers recognizes him from their younger days and draws him into a scheme to make money that had me turning the pages as quickly as I could. This book was a quick read.
Merry Christmas, Alex Cross by James Patterson
Alex Cross is home anticipating the holiday with his family when he gets a phone call that sets off a series of events that has him wondering if he will survive. There were a couple of times when I wondered if this was the end of Alex, and turned the pages with anticipation of what he would be facing next. Thankfully, he survives. ;)
Also Read:
The Tutor's Daughter by Julie Klassen

Reading:
The Round House by Louise Erdrich

Up Next:
Waking Up With A Rake by Connie Mason with Mia Marlowe
Astry by Emma Donoghue

I've got a little catching up to do on my Alex Cross books, glad this one was good. I'm a fan of Mia Marlowe's writing so I'll have to check out Waking Up with a Rake. Have a great week Nise and happy reading :)

Hope you enjoyed Klassen's newest! I haven't read a Patterson book in about 5 years, and I used to inhale them =)
Thanks for visiting my post!

Round House is on my wish list for sometime soon; Fifteen Digits caught my eye and it looks like one I'd enjoy.

I didn't realize Emma Donoghue had a new book out - will have to see if my library has it.

A new James Patterson book is out today - Private Berlin. I'll be heading to the bookstore later today to pick up a copy and I believe that a new Alex Cross book is due out in February!

Have a great week!

I'm curious to see what your thoughts on The Round House. I tried listening to it and just couldn't get into it. It could have just been the time I tried so I'll give it another go but I'd like to see if you're enjoying it.

With all the Patterson books I've read and loved over the years, I never read Alex Cross - although his books are in my TBR. They sound so good. Enjoy.

I haven't read an Alex Cross book in a while. That's the only Patterson series I ever read.

I can't figure out which Alex book I left off with. So glad to know he survives. If Patterson kills him off I will be crushed!!
