Fall Into Reading

According to the calendar it is officially fall. Even though I enjoy the season, I am always sad to see summer go. Katrina at Callapidder Days hosts Fall Into Reading, a fun, low-pressure reading challenge open to anyone and everyone. It will take place September 22nd-December 21st.

My goal during Spring Reading Thing was to read books off my own stacks.  Since it was a colossal failure on my part, I am not going to attempt it for this challenge.  The shiny new release shelf is too much of a temptation for me!  Instead, I am going to set a goal to read 45 books for this challenge.

Some of the titles I hope to read during the challenge are:
Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
Insurgent by Veronica Roth
Delusion in Death by J.D. Robb
The Perfect Hope by Nora Roberts
NYPD Red by James Patterson
Merry Christmas Alex Cross by James Patterson
A Duke's Promise by Jamie Carie
The Breakthrough by Jerry B. Jenkins
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
A Wanted Man by Lee Child
Bones Are Forever by Kathy Reichs
The Absent One by Jussi Adler-Olsen
The Serpent's Bite by Warren Adler
Stay Close by Harlan Coben (audio)
The Ugly Duchess by Eloisa James (audio)

It will be interesting to see what other books are added to this list!

What are you planning to read this Fall?

45 books is quite ambitious! I've not heard of these. I could probably have assembled a list just from my own stacks, too, but I love new ones as well.

Lots of reading. I can see Eloisa James there which I read this month. Enjoy all the reads.

Forty five books. That is more than I can get to in a year! Happy Reading!

Good luck with your challenge -- you're a fast reader, so I know you'll have success. Looks like some great fall reading. I'm looking forward to Kate Morton's newest book this fall, The Secret Keeper. Enjoy!

I tried this challenge one year and failed miserably. I hope you're more successful than I was!

Fall Into Reading is a challenge I've been noticing since I started blogging.

I haven't yet participated in it, but good luck with your goals!

I always do poorly when I try to commit to read off my shelf, and for the same reason you said, new books are just too tempting. I do have a short list of books I intend to read before the end of the year so maybe I'll join in the challenge as some extra motivation.

I'm also sad to see summer leave. Did you get a frost Saturday night? We came dangerously close, with a few degrees. I had to cover my garden because it's way to early to lose my flowers and veggies!

I won't miss pulling weeds, but I will miss badly the warmth of the sun, and the longer days. I hate coming home in the dark, and it gets dark here by 4:30 in the afternoon. Sad. I couldn't imagine reading 45 books, in that short period. I think I'd have to give up everything else, like cooking meals and such. Good luck on your challenge. I know you'll do well, and tempt me to read some of the books you love.

I so love fall and these low 70 degree sunny days and breezes we've been having.

You have some ambitious fall reading goals, but knowing you -- you will achieve them; have fun.

I recognize a lot of those authors as best sellers, although I have not read many of them. Enjoy! PS I am with you, in that I will be tempted to make substitutions also if I see something irresistible.

I read "Gone Girl" a few weeks ago, I haven't read any of the others on your list. I only posted 8 books and will add to the list as I go along. Happy Reading and hope the cold is better. Thanks for the visit to my Reading Corner today.

I am always amazed at how many books you can get read. Wow. I do like the idea of adding to the list throughout...but that would mean making my list shorter to begin with. Each year, when I get to December, I am itching to read something new...that I didn't even know about when I made my list in September.

Wow, 45 books! That's a goal! And you're absolutely right about all the beautiful books that are published this fall! My goal is to lower my TBR pile, but that will be a real challenge! Thanks for stopping by :)

Good luck with the challenge and happy reading!

Good for you for being honest and realistic about what you'll actually read. :) 45 books? I'm impressed! I've heard Veronica Roth's series recommended for those who liked The Hunger Games, so I'll definitely need to check it out. Thanks for being part of the challenge!

45 books! Wow! I've only read 52 so far this year so your goal awes me. :) :) Happy reading!!
