Attorney Amelia Bailey came to the Bahamas to help her brother and sister-in-law with their international adoption. After the earthquake, she’s cut off from her relatives and left to care for their toddler. When the little boy’s biological mother shows up claiming her child was stolen from her, Amelia and Hugh uncover a corrupt international adoption ring…
On the run from ruthless kidnappers who will stop at nothing to safeguard their lucrative scheme, Hugh must call on all his training to protect them. Easier said than done when Amelia’s fiery touch threatens to crack his world—and his heart—wide open.
This is the second book in the Elite Forces series. Is it my age that causes me to think the cover does the book such an injustice? It is more than a romance. Romance does play a part, but the suspense and action make it worth the read, as well as the importance of specialized rescue forces. It reinforces the idea of not judging a book by it's cover. I look forward to book three, Under Fire.Author: Catherine Mann

I'm with you about the cover, especially if there is more depth to the story!!!
I don't think it's age. This cover would make me pass over the book because I'd just think it was some sappy romance novel which is too bad because it sounds as though it's better than that.
One of the authors I spoke to said: that often the artist designing the book cover has not even read the book. So it's no wonder the covers often don't do justice to the books. Thanks for your review.
That cover has me thinking tacky romance. Thanks for setting me straight :)
Well he does carry a gun and there is a helicopter so I would know what to pick up i I wanted action
I agree with your comments about the cover - although it does have some eye appeal. ;-)
I liked the suspense too.
I hadn't heard of this series before but I'm going to definitely give book one a try. I'm not a fan of the cover either but the book sounds good :)
