Guinevere, The Legend in Autumn

Surrounded by traitors, trapped by destiny, Britain's spirited Queen Guinevere recounts the last, dramatic years of Camelot. At King Arthur's side, she reigned over the fabled heroes of the Round Table as her heartbreaking honesty, courage, and integrity were challenged by those she loved most. Torn between duty and desire as he rescued his Queen, condemned to the stake for treason, Lancelot swept her away as she bartered her soul to save Arthur and Camelot from the furies of fate.

When I closed this third book of the Guinevere trilogy I had conflicted feelings. Sad that it was over, but glad that it was over, if that makes sense. It was full of adventure, courage, betrayal, and humor. I enjoyed the author's portrayal of Guinevere immensely, (which is different from most).  If you like Arthurian legends, this trilogy is for you.

This isn't normally the type of book I would read, but I have the first one on my Nook. It was a freebie from Barnes & Noble. I hope to eventually get around to reading it.

I wasn't over the moon with the first one so I passed on further books in this series. I'm glad that you enjoyed it.

I just finished Child of the Northern Spring, and loved it, so I'll have to continue. Thanks Nise. If I were doing a novel study I would have taken note that Lancelot was mentioned with Morgan in the first one, the study of magic? Hmmmmm.

I like Arthur books but haven't picked up this trilogy yet. When I see that you (and others) had mixed feelings, I'm a bit hesitant to start reading.

I would have read these but was afraid I am not like the portrayal of Guinevere. She can be polar opposites. If I see the first one at the library I'll pick it up.
