For deputy sheriff Kevin Kimble, the lighthouse-keeper's death is disturbing and personal. Years ago, Kimble was shot while on duty. Somehow the death suggests a connection between the lighthouse and the most terrifying moment of his life.
Audrey Clark is in the midst of moving her large-cat sanctuary onto land adjacent to the lighthouse. Sixty-seven tigers, lions, leopards, and one legendary black panther are about to have a new home there. Her husband, the sanctuary's founder, died scouting the new property, and Audrey is determined to see his vision through.
As strange occurrences multiply at the Ridge, the animals grow ever more restless, and Kimble and Audrey try to understand what evil forces are moving through this ancient landscape, just past the divide between dark and light.
This is my second Michael Koryta book and definitely won't be my last! I was glued to the pages of this suspenseful mystery with a dash of paranormal creepiness one Sunday afternoon. It is not often to be on the edge of your seat and emotionally touched in the same novel.Author: Michael Koryta

Love the sound of this one Nise. Have not tried this author yet, but want to.
I've heard a lot about this author and realize I should probably read his books!
I like that combo...sounds good. I've never read Koryta but I will keep his name in mind for the future!!
I really should take a chance on a book like this one day :)
This is a new to me title. I usually don't go for these types of books but lately I find myself drawn to the summaries and reviews. I just may have to give this author a try.
You got my attention with the novel being both a thriller and having an emotional connection. I've heard good things about this author but never read any of his books.
I keep wondering if his books are too creepy for me. I'll have to give the first one a try and see.
