Tuesday's Intro and Teaser

FFT is hosted by Diane of Bibliophile By the Sea where we share the opening paragraph of our current read to see if others would read the book based on that first paragraph.  Please feel free to join in, First Chapter~First Paragraph~Tuesday Intros.

By afternoon teatime on the third Wednesday of spring, Clementine knew there would be a frost.

It was her hair.  Her badly cut, madly curly, faded long red hair.  When the weather gods sucked the warmth out of the air to prepare it for scooting below zero, her hair was always the first to know.

She had been directing a thick slice of pain au levain slathered with pickled pear and a wedge of ripe Meaux brie toward her mouth when she first heard a sharp crackle very near her left ear.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of  Should Be Reading.

Love the idea of hair predicting the weather!!!

I thought the same thing about the hair -- here in N.O. bad hair days are an every day occurrence! There's muggy, muggier, and just-wear-a-baseball cap!!

Thanks for the teaser.
