In a country simmering with witchcraft and unholy alliances, Guinevere joined forces with her husband, King Arthur, to gain control of Britain's warring knights. Neither a renowned beauty nor an elegant courtier, she was the lively partner who shared his dream: to create the most elegant court "in the world, or at least this side of Constantinople."
By Arthur's side, she presided over fabled heroes and treacherous villains, counting among her companions, Gawain, Merlin, Tristan, and Isolde. But Guinevere's greatest battles were with dangers Arthur could not see: Morgan le Fey, the evil beauty who would usurp her brother's throne, and Lancelot, the magnificent knight would capture Guinevere's love. Vibrantly human and touchingly real, she reigned as Arthur's wife and Britain's High Queen -- and as a woman poised to discover the true peril and promise of the human heart.
This is the second book in the Arthurian trilogy. Knowing a little bit of the Arthurian legend I did not feel I was missing much by not reading the first book. A wonderful read full of history, romance and myth of the round table. The author's research and love for this time period shines through with magic and enchantment! I look forward to the third book, Guinevere, the Legend in Autumn.Author: Persia Woolley

I am glad you enjoyed it. I did read book 1 but I just do not think it was the legend for me
Ohwwwww, I'm not sure why I didn't know this second book as it sounded far better than the first which I've read some years ago (i think, i was younger back then). Okay the first book wasn't that bad actually, I had a good time with it as I liked strong and stubborn characters. It looks like I have something to read soon...tnx.
I know next to nothing about Arthurian legend, so I'd probably have to start with book 1.
I love Arthur books. I'm not sure how I missed this trilogy, but I'll add it my list.
I know nothing about this legend, so I probably won't be reading this one. I do like good historical works though.
I'm not one to follow these historical novels, but this one sounds good.
Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed the first book and I am happy to hear the second book is probably going to please me as well! Thanks for your thoughts :)
I found the first one just alright for me so I passed on this one...another book that you have me rethinking!!
I love Arthurian legend, and the Marion Zimmer Bradley-type feminist re-treads of it. Is this book more related to, say White's The Once and Future King or The Mists of Avalon?
Looks like a fun read, either way!
