Celebrations

Our sons each have reached a milestone in their lives and we celebrate them!

I include this in today's Weekend Cooking because we are hosting an open house to celebrate this Monday.  It is a dessert buffet and I am looking for fast, easy and yummy dessert recipes.  Do you have any to share?  If you would be so kind as to email them to me, I would appreicate it.  Thank you.

One dessert I will be making is a family favorite:  Pumpkin Bars.  The recipe is easy, but finding canned pumpkin in June?  Difficult. I went to four stores and their shelves were empty.  Thankfully, my mother-in-law had a can in her cupboards.

If you would like a copy of this recipe, let me know and I will email it to you.

I look forward to this new season of our lives.

Weekend Cooking hosted by Beth Fish Reads every weekend. It is open to anyone who has any kind of food-related post to share: Book (novel, nonfiction) reviews, cookbook reviews, movie reviews, recipes, random thoughts, gadgets, fabulous quotations, photographs.

Congrats to your boys! I love the idea of a dessert buffett--I did a whole meal for our recent high school graduation party and swore I would never go to that much work again. And I love desserts so I think I'm going to have to follow your lead!

For some reason your email bounced! Hummm. Anyway, I'd love the pumpkin recipe.

I have a super chocolate chip bar recipe that is very quick to make. It only has six ingredients and is done in no time. Very rich. I'd send it to you but if your email isn't working it would be better to email me. My email is margotDOTpeckATgmailDOTcom.

I love your idea of a desert bar. That makes it a super treat event. Congratulations on your two milestones. Your sons both look like very nice young men.

Congrats Nise! My son graduated last weekend. Open houses must be a Michigan thing because back home we never celebrated that way. We celebrated with family from out of town.

P.S. They grow up so fast!!!! Oh, and great idea to have a dessert open house.

Congratulations to your sons! YOu must be so proud. The chocolate raspberry squares that are on Beth's blog are to die for... we love them. I've also emailed you a very easy recipe for double chocolate cake.
Good luck with all the baking.

Congrats to your two sons Nise!! My oldest graduates tomorrow!! Hard to believe how fast the time goes isn't it? The dessert buffet sounds great. Wish I knew of some cool recipes, but I'm very lame in that department!

I recently went to make the popular WW recipe with canned pumpkin and devil's food cake mix and had the SAME problem! But, all the same, I'd love the recipe for when it makes a re-appearance on the shelves!

Congrats Nise on your boys' graduations. Wow...two in one year! How does it feel to have a college graduate?? My oldest will soon be there, relatively speaking.

Your pumpkin desert sounds fabulous. I love your idea of a dessert buffet, may use it one day.

Would you please email me your recipe? Thanks.
