Italian For Beginners

Sometimes a girl need a Roman Holiday....

Cat Connelly plays it safe.  She's an accountant with no debt who lives near her family in Manhattan. She's 34, unmarried and with nothing promising on her romantic horizon.  After a humiliating incident at her sister's wedding, she throws caution to the wind and flies off to Rome to find Francesco, the man she'd fallen in love with 13 year earlier on a trip to Italy.

....and sometimes she just needs to roam.

When Francesco turns out to be a dud, Cat is adrift on the streets of Rome, no safety net in sight.  With the help of an eccentric waitress with a spare apartment to rent, the handsome restaurateur who calls her Princess Ann, and the family secrets only Rome can unlock for her, Cat discovers that happiness can be found on the back of a speeding Vespa...but only if you're willing to take a few risks.

I related to Kristin Harmel's character Cat as the family caretaker.  This is more than a fun, escape read, it will resonate with you as Cat searches for not only herself but how her history has impacted her life both negatively and positively.  Thanks Staci for recommending this book, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Seriously? I was just looking at this last wednesday online and thought of getting it, an accidental find while searching through Amazon. Why didn't I get it? I thought at first it sounded a bit boring. But now that you've read this, I have to get IFB and add to my TBR. Thank you!

I like taking risks too, you know ;-)

I was not expecting this book to be about how it is described. Interesting.
Your thoughts on the book though has made me put it on my TBR list. Will that list of mine every get smaller? LOL Does not seem it ever will. :D
