Her only shot to be a true blue again is to solve a major case on her own, and prove she has the right to wear the uniform. But even with her police chief sister on her side, she has to work in the shadows: a vindictive U.S. attorney is looking for any reason to send her back behind bars.
Then Roy Kingman enters her life.
Roy Kingman is a young lawyer who aided the poor until he took a high-paying job at a law firm in Washington. Mace and Roy meet after he discovers the dead body of a female partner at the firm.
Their investigation into the lawyer's death reveals surprising secrets from both the private and public world of the nation's capital, and what began as a fairly routine homicide investigation takes a terrifying and unexpected turn into something complex, diabolical, and possibly lethal.
A page-turning thriller that has two strong women characters that are street smart and tough. This chunkster delivers murder mysteries, conspiracies and a budding romance. I hope that there are future books for these characters. David Baldacci has been a favorite author for years.

I haven't read this author in a while but I've always been very satisfied when I've finished one! Sounds like a winner to me!
Sounds great, I like his books. The female cop has an interesting first name.
Happy St. Pat's Day!
I haven't read anything by Baldacci in a long time, but this one sounds like a winner.
Found out yesterday that Baldacci is going to be a speaker next season for the author lecture series I attend. I haven't read any of his books, but it sounds like this might be a good one to start with!
