Book Break

Do you take breaks while reading a book? Or read it straight through? (And, by breaks, I don’t mean sleeping, eating and going to work; I mean putting it aside for a time while you read something else.)

Normally, once I get a good start (25-50 pages), I will continue to read straight through a book.  I do have a couple of books lying around the house that I read only when I am in that room.

Stop by Sunday for my blogoversary giveaways.

That's interesting about having certain books for certain rooms. I have different books going at different times of day - my bedtime book, my breakfast book, etc. I tend to be a break-taker.

I am the same as you where I have books in other rooms that I only read when in that room, like the bathroom.

I only take a break from a book if I'm having a hard time getting into it; otherwise I read straight through. I'm doing that with Remarkable Creatures right now. I've read 2 other books since I started it.

I do not have books for different rooms, but I do have a book for the car, for work and for at home. Only if it is a really good book do I read it all the way through.

I love that you have different books for different rooms! I may have to give that method a try!

I very rarely read straight through a book except on weekends!!!

While I do have books that are unfinished and lying aroung the house and waiting to be read (like the bathroom and the bedroom), I always have two or three other books on the go as well. I've always been like that so I wouldn't know how to do it differently. But my mother does that too so maybe I picked up the habit from her. Who knows?

Nope I don't take breaks from books and yes, I have the book that stays in the bathroom as well.

Hi, 'Nise -

I wanted to thank you for stopping by my blog and taking the time to comment (and for telling us about the sequel to Nick of Time!)...and for apologizing for not coming by sooner. Somehow, after years of blogging, my settings got messed up, and I wasn't receiving notification of comments on that blog. I wondered why no one was commenting all of a sudden! I feel pretty stupid, but I fixed the problem, so I'll be more responsive from now on!

As for the question, I very rarely set a book aside once I start it. I rarely read more than one book at a time either. I like to start a book and read it through...though there have been rare occasions where I didn't finish one!

I can only read one book at a time, if I read more than one book I feel like I might get the storylines confused so I do read a book straight through. Your method sounds interesting I might have to try haveing books in different rooms that I read.
