Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

"I know this drawing".  I've seen it since I was a little kid, on the back of notebooks, on napkins, paper tablecloths, in an entire comic given to me once by someone whom I haven't seen in two years, whom I try not to think about because I have no idea where she is or what she's doing or if she's still even alive, whom I've tried to convince myself to forget about, whom I've almost completely given up on ever hearing from again, whom a teeny, tiny part of me still believes will reappear, will send me a sign at some time when I am least expecting it."

Wherever Nina Lies by Lynn Weingarten

Sounds like this person really wants some contact with the woman. Very mysterious.

What's the drawing of? Who's the person that may reappear at any time? This is quite a teaser!

I really, really like this one!I'm especially intrigued by the two possible meanings of "lies"; to not tell the truth, or final resting place. The cover suggests one, but the teaser suggests the other, to me. Great choice!

This one has me intrigued. Is she forced to keep a secret? Great teaser and cover.

I love this feature on Tuesdays because I always come across books that I haven't heard of but then when I read the teaser I immediately want to get my hands on it!! This sounds great!

That is an intriguing teaser. It has me wondering just what this book is about.

That's quite a sentence. I wonder if she shows up and what the drawing is of.
