Something is happening to the children in this small town, but no one’s talking. Fisherman, Cal, takes his children to the lake to teach them to fish. Tyler is eager and wants to rush ahead, but is held back by his dad rather sternly. Tyler resents not being able to fish the way he knows he will catch them. Tilly, the obedient one, waits patiently for her father to teach her. Tyler sneaks out a night to go fishing by himself the way he wants to fish. You can guess what happens. Cal must rescue not only his child but the other children as well. What will everyone learn from the experience?
This story would be best read aloud and used as a means to open discussion about communication, why parents want to protect their children from dangers, the importance of listening even if you don’t understand, helping others when they in need and dealing with temptation to do what you want when it may harmful. A beautifully written, easy to read book.

Thanks for your lovely review and insights. I hope more parents and teachers will take a look at "lake" and share it with children of all ages.
Best of luck with all your good work.
